Celebrate Father's Day with a visit to the Museum, and a ride on a train hauled by a real life steam engine.

Unlimited rides on a train hauled by one of our vintage Steam Locomotives and display of Supercars.

Treat your dad this Father’s day and join us for an impressive display of automotive royalty, where there will be up to 200 supercars, muscle cars and other headturners from the likes of Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, McLaren and more!

There will be plenty of photo opportunities, so make sure to have your phones and cameras at the ready. This event is being run in partnership with Essex Car Meets.

Enjoy unlimited steam and diesel train rides, as well as unlimited rides on our Miniature railway, and access to the museum and it’s exhibits.

Platform 2 Cafe will be open selling hot and cold drinks and snacks, and our very own miniature pub will be open selling a range of beers, ciders, wines and soft drinks. Molly Moo’s Ice Cream will also be in attendance.

Let your kids let off some steam on our train themed playground and also pretend to be a bus driver on our play and picnic bus.

The Braintree & Halstead Model Railway Club will have their club rooms open with an impressive display of model railway layouts.

There will also be free vintage bus rides to Bures and back, a round trip of about 25 minutes thanks to the AJN 825 Preservation Group.

During our Father’s Day Steam, the Museum is open for you to look around the various buildings, trains, displays and exhibits – details of what you can see can be found on our Standard Museum Admission page, with the added attraction of one of our heritage trains running, hauled by one of our home fleet of steam locomotives.

We operate unlimited rides starting at 10:30 – 15:00, the Museum opens at 10:00 right through until 17:00.
