There are few regions as diverse as Essex when it comes to offerings that span practically every type of tourist and each group of travellers and this is no truer than when applied to the family getaway. So here we take a look at what the region serves up for the family seeking out plenty of fun for all ages.
Brightlingsea Open Air Swimming Pool - Brightlingsea
Brightlingsea Open Air Swimming Pool is perfect for those visiting Essex during the summer months. Enjoy this pool (as well as the Brightlingsea Sports Centre) from May onwards. It's worth noting however that the pool does require one adult per two children under 16 (although exceptions to this can be at the manager's discretion).
Childsplay Adventureland - Colchester
Childsplay Adventureland in Colchester has to be one of the dream day-out attractions for kids up to 9. With a fantastic indoor play facility, as well as plenty of events and activities running all year through, this is ideal for kids who want to play, whilst parents can relax and watch their little ones wear themselves out.
Hollywood Bowl - Basildon
Who doesn't love a night out bowling? Hollywood Bowl in Basildon offers plenty of ten pin bowling action, as well as a nice little arcade, bar and a Costa Coffee. It's also only recently opened, so here you can look forward to the most advanced of bowling play, as well as the most modern of dining environments to catch a bite to eat in after all that fun! It's worth checking out their website before you visit however as they have plenty of family deals and events running all year through.
Jump Giants - West Thurrock
Welcome to England's largest trampoline park! This place will see adults and kids alike literally bouncing off the walls with fun for all the family. Spanning over a staggering 28,000 square feet this centre also has a one-of-a-kind foam zone which takes up 7,000 square feet. If all that isn't enough Jump Giants is also home to 2 launch pads, tumble runs, a junior zone, two dodgeball courts and a basketball slam dunk lane!
The Clay & Craft Cottage - Rayleigh
Whilst it's great to indulge in action packed trampoline jumping and kids exploring all that indoor adventure centres offer, it's also great to get children involved with some hands on crafts. The Clay & Craft Cottage in Rayleigh is the ideal venue for this, with plenty of workshops for all ages.
Wild Forest Gym - Brentwood
The Wild Forest Gym has much to offer the adult looking for a fat kicking obstacle course, as well as plenty of kid focussed challenges. There's holiday camps, family friendly courses and child focused group activities.
