Get ready for some autumn magic the whole family can get their claws into at RHS Garden Hyde Hall. This October half term, witness hauntingly good pumpkin carvings, meet creepy-crawlies with Zoolab and explore the pumpkin trail to discover seasonal delights along the way. Enjoy a magical autumn storytelling walk and take part in pumpkin-themed crafts.

Garden admission applies; free to RHS members and children under 5. Activities are included with garden admission (unless marked *).

Pumpkin Garden Trail

Saturday 25 October – Sunday 2 November
Garden opening times

Step into the world of pumpkins and discover amazing seasonal surprises dotted around the garden. Feast your eyes on a pumpkin banquet table, find pumpkin decorated trees and see spooky scarecrows protecting our autumn crops. Discover the history of pumpkin carving and delicious pumpkin recipes as you explore. It’s all gourd fun!

Zoolab Animal Encounters*

Monday 27 October
Bookable sessions at 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm, 2pm and 3pm, Hilltop Lodge

Get up close and hands-on with some fascinating creepy crawlies. Join Zoolab for an ethical animal encounter and meet the likes of snakes, spiders and snails.

*£6 per child; suitable for all ages (must be accompanied by an adult). Please book online.

Storytelling Walks

Tuesday 28 October
Sessions at 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm

Join storyteller Mike Dodsworth for a magical pumpkin-themed walk through the garden, filled with fun, seasonal tales for all ages. Meet at the Welcome Building to begin your storytelling adventure.

Suitable for all ages (must be accompanied by an adult)

Pumpkin Carving Demonstration with Sand In Your Eye

Wednesday 29 October
10.30am – 3.30pm

Watch in awe as expert carvers bring a pumpkin to life – what insect will they reveal? See the carving masters from Sand In Your Eye at work and gather spooky inspiration for your own pumpkin creations at home.

Thursday 30 and Friday 31 October
Bookable sessions at 10.15am, 11.15am, 12.45pm and 1.30pm, Hilltop Lodge

Join us in the Hilltop Lodge for some spooktacular crafting fun. Get creative with pumpkin-inspired activities perfect for little monsters and their grown-ups.
