Leap back in time to 1576, Queene Elizabeth is upon the throne, and the common folke of Ingatestone have been granted permission to hold a grayte fayre on the manor.

Speake wyth the Barber Surgeon or Herbalists for aught that ails thee, see the poppet theatre perform delightful stories, absorb the intricacies of the alchemist's trade, play games, learn to use a counting board, make pomanders, speake wyth the gentle folke as they enjoy the fayre, and watch the sottlers prepare dinner for the gentle folke.

There are also whispers of a new employee at the house, some say they may in truth be an exciled priest seeking safety in the employ of Lady Petre. Listen carefully to what the folke say, they may reveal themselves to you. Will you help keep them safe? Know you of any hiding spaces? The Queene's spymaster Walsingham has eyes and ears everywhere, in truth there may be one amongst us, hunting for the priest as he escapes persecution.

The fayre opens at 11 in the forenoon and closes at 5 in the after. The house opens at noon.
