The 900 year old Norman keep of Hedingham Castle stands in 160 acres of spectacularly beautiful landscaped gardens and woodland where the Lindsay family, descendants of the original owners, the De Veres, still live. Hedingham Castle is not just one place. Romantic, beautiful, ancient, historic and wild, it is somewhere to set your imagination free. Privately owned, its character is unique, and its history is the heritage of us all.

We offer a variety of private tours for community groups, private individuals and international guests. Tours can include the historic Norman Keep, Georgian House and the beautiful gardens on the estate. You can even add in exciting activities to your tour, such as medieval weapons talks, falconry and archery experiences! Catering options are also available.

Stay at Hedingham - Our unique and characterful homes are the perfect place to unwind. Choose from four beautifully appointed homes set within the magnificent 160-acre grounds of Hedingham Castle. Surround yourself in the historic atmosphere and the peace and tranquility of the estate and explore the stunning Essex countryside. All our homes are a haven for relaxing and make the perfect getaway. They are ideal for the ultimate country escape with family and friends. Snuggle up in front of the fire, stretch your legs on a beautiful walk, explore the castle, or visit one of the many other attractions that Essex has to offer. The perfect rural retreat.
