Hedingham Castle is delighted to announce the return of its beloved Snowdrop Walks for 2025, offering visitors a chance to witness the beauty of nature awakening across the historic estate. This enchanting experience takes place on select dates in February, beginning Sunday 9th February, inviting families, nature lovers, and history enthusiasts to explore the beautiful scenery.
The grounds will be open from 11am to 4pm, giving guests the opportunity to wander through the stunning gardens and admire the majestic 900-year-old Norman Castle Keep of Hedingham.
After a refreshing walk, guests can unwind in the charming tearooms within the Castle, where light refreshments including a selection of delicious cakes will be available. Well-behaved dogs on leads are also welcome (except inside the Castle), making it a perfect day out for the whole family. Admission includes access to both the Castle and the gardens.
Exciting Half-Term Activities
This year, Hedingham Castle is adding extra fun for young visitors with two interactive activities during the February half-term:
Nature Trail (Sunday 16th – Wednesday 19th February)
Little explorers can embark on an exciting Nature Trail for just £1 per child. Upon arrival, children will receive an activity sheet guiding them through the grounds in search of hidden creatures. The adventure ends at the tearooms, where a sweet treat awaits each participant (one treat per activity sheet).
Knight School (Monday 17th – Wednesday 19th February)
Step into the world of medieval combat with Knight School! Using padded weapons and armour, participants will learn the art of dueling under the guidance of an expert instructor.
- Suitable for children aged 6+ and adults (all skill levels welcome).
- 1-hour sessions for just £2.50 per person when combined with Snowdrop Walks admission.
- Available on February 17th, 18th & 19th—spaces are limited and must be booked in advance.
