The Perrywood team have been on the road this week delivering trees to local schools and charities to support The Queen’s Green Canopy, a tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee this year.

The Headgate Theatre are proud to announce their February season of work. There really is something for everyone. Linus Karp’s one-man comedic parody How to Live a Jellicle Life is coming to the Headgate on its national tour after two sell-out runs. This five-star production is described as “witty, unique and sidesplittingly funny” and will be the perfect tonic to a chilly February night.

In spite of another challenging year due to Covid, Perrywood Tiptree is delighted to have raised and donated £15,743 to chosen charities in 2021. This includes donations to local organisations Together We Grow and Abberton Rural Training as well as the national Greenfingers Charity. These organisations are very closely linked to the Perrywood vision to inspire people of all ages to get more plants in their lives and enjoy gardens and gardening.

This week, in a bid to end the year with some festive cheer, Perrywood Tiptree launched its annual Christmas cheer campaign. The garden centre, which is dedicated to supporting the local community, asked their team to nominate and deliver a planter to an individual who, for one reason or another, deserves some Christmas cheer.

Barleylands Farm Park in Billericay, Essex has won the Clarissa Dickson Wright Award at the 2021 Countryside Alliance Awards

Barleylands Farm Park based in Billericay, Essex, announced today that it has been named as the national winner of the Clarissa Dickson Wright Award at the 2021 Countryside Alliance Awards. The award was created in 2013 to celebrate businesses that are enthusiastic about education and wish to ignite a passion for food. It was therefore the farm’s education programme, which sees nearly 20,000 children visit every year, that sparked particular interest from the judges.

We’re lucky to have some Great British Coastline in and around Southend. Whether it’s a short stroll, or a big adventure, we have a station and route to get you where you want to be. The total route from Shoeburyness to Leigh-on-Sea is approximately 7.5 miles and will take roughly 2.5 hours, we have also split the route into smaller chunks depending on how far you want to go. Stopping at ice cream shops, cafes, fish and chip shops and even the pub is encouraged.

Unfortunately due to the Coronavirus pandemic, many children have missed out on the opportunity to take part in educational visits over the past fourteen months. Learning outside the classroom however is a fantastic way to create rich, engaging experiences and bring the curriculum to life for young minds.
