The Perrywood team have been on the road this week delivering trees to local schools and charities to support The Queen’s Green Canopy, a tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee this year.

In spite of another challenging year due to Covid, Perrywood Tiptree is delighted to have raised and donated £15,743 to chosen charities in 2021. This includes donations to local organisations Together We Grow and Abberton Rural Training as well as the national Greenfingers Charity. These organisations are very closely linked to the Perrywood vision to inspire people of all ages to get more plants in their lives and enjoy gardens and gardening.

The award was created in 2013 to celebrate businesses that are enthusiastic about education and wish to ignite a passion for food. It was therefore the farm’s education programme, which sees nearly 20,000 children visit every year, that sparked particular interest from the judges.

We’re lucky to have some Great British Coastline in and around Southend. Whether it’s a short stroll, or a big adventure, we have a station and route to get you where you want to be. The total route from Shoeburyness to Leigh-on-Sea is approximately 7.5 miles and will take roughly 2.5 hours, we have also split the route into smaller chunks depending on how far you want to go. Stopping at ice cream shops, cafes, fish and chip shops and even the pub is encouraged.
